2007 Hairstyles

I think by the end of 2007 that we will see many more celebrities sporting short hairstyles.

I really like short hairstyles for the ease of daily maintenance. The kind of styles that I prefer for myself are the type where blow drying and combing is all that is required.

I am not saying that I don't adore other short hairstyles, I prefer to keep life simple and there isn't always time in the day to go through a styling routine.

Here is a picture of a short haircut that I really like but it would require more effort to style than a short straight bob cut.

The wavy short hairstyle of Kelly Carlson looks fabulous but to achieve that look would require quite a bit of time every morning. If you are a busy woman then this might not be the style for you. But it does look great!

This cute short bob cut gives Heather Goldenhersh a look that really works well with her pointed facial features.

Daily styling maintenance: Blow dry with a smoothing lotion. Use a round brush to flare out hair, twist hair outwards while blow drying.

Sandra Bullock is looking fabulous for 2007 with her sexy and sophisticated short haircut:

This is a perfect style for women who don't want to go too short with their hairdo. This cut is not too short and not too long.

A style such as Sandra's has the in look for '07 but should you change your mind about short hair the length of time to grow your hair long again won't be long.

So far Sandra's style is one of my favorites!

With 2007 only a couple days away we have seen many celebrities showing off their new short bob style cuts.

Yeah, short hair is looking great on the celebrities such as Elisha Cuthbert, Jessica Simpson Kristin Cavallari, Keira Knightley and Britney Spears (there are many more to adopt the short hairstyle too).

But, is short hair for you?

It can be a bit overwhelming deciding on going for a short hairstyle. After all it did take quite some time to grow your hair out. If you are on the edge about cutting your hair short here is some advice for you:

1. Try your hair in a pony tail

If you find you get more compliments when you wear your hair in a ponytail then a short style might be perfect for you. When you slick your hair back into a ponytail your look is very similar to having short hair because it emphasizes the shape of your face.

2. Try wearing a hat

Tuck your hair back under a hat to see how a short style might look with your facial features. If you love the look then a short crop might be perfect for you. Also try wearing hats in public for the “compliment test”.

3. Try a virtual styling tool

Before I make any major change to my hair, I invest a very small amount on a virtual hairstyling tool (I have the virtual hair styling tool that I use posted here). It costs less than $15 for about 3 months access but I have to say that is the best hairstyling tool I have ever found.

It allows me to upload a digital picture of myself and try different colors and styles before I go to my stylish. Once I have found a few styles that I really like, I print them and take the pictures to consult with my hair stylist. The virtual hair styling tool has been the best thing I have ever found for eliminating the heartache of a bad haircut!
