Short Hairstyles Are Not Always Easy

I really like short hairstyles for the ease of daily maintenance. The kind of styles that I prefer for myself are the type where blow drying and combing is all that is required.
I am not saying that I don’t adore other short hairstyles, I prefer to keep life simple and there isn’t always time in the day to go through a styling routine.
Here is a picture of a short haircut that I really like but it would require more effort to style than a short straight bob cut.
The wavy short hairstyle of Kelly Carlson looks fabulous but to achieve that look would require quite a bit of time every morning. If you are a busy woman then this might not be the style for you. But it does look great!

Short Hairstyles

Short hair is a timeless style to wear for women.  It makes a women appear younger, yet at the same time more sophisticated and professional.  It’s also a lot easier to maintain than long hair.  However, there is always a worry in cutting one’s hair to a short length that you won’t be able to do anything with it besides combing it and maybe a hair band.  While it’s true that short hair isn’t quite as versatile as long hair, it is not true that you can’t do anything with it; short hair simply requires a bit more creativity to style into new forms.
Short hair starts with how you had it cut in the first place.  Some women choose to have longer bangs for instance to sweep over the eyes and lend an air of mystery.  Others have their hair short but permed to be curly or wavy.  Some women choose to simply have it cut close to their head or neck.  The cut of your hair will help to decide what else you can do with it, but it’s not the only deciding factor.  The other important parts of doing successful styles with short hair include what products you use and how creative you are or can get away with being.
Short hair can be more than simply hang down against your head.  You can sweep it up with styling mousse or gels for spiky updos or gently tease it into softer waves around your face and neck (if your hair is full enough.) You can do this by using a combination of a comb and hair gel or spray, but you really have to go easy on the gels and sprays-short hair is easy to damage and it will grow out damaged if you are not careful.  However, you can use combs and even ceramic tiled hair irons to get sleek straight hair or to get loose end curls.  Short hair can also be styled to form around your face for a stylish bob cut that is easy to tend to and looks great.  Thinner short hair can be touched up with volumizer to thicken the locks and make you look more stylish. Short hair is short enough and easy to tease into punky spikes or gently touch up into soft curls and waves. You can also use a few clips or barrettes to add flare to your hair in a very simple manner.
Short hair is far more versatile than you would think, so long as you are willing to put a little effort into it. Short hair can be made punky, professional, cute, soft, feminine, tough, or sophisticated.  With only a comb, the right gels or mousses and a hair iron, plus perhaps a few clips, you can do all manner of things with your short hair.
